John Whitehead discussed the following points:

Speed of cleanup – they are up to 6 floors underground, 5/31 is
the expected completion date

There is a larger number of visitors then he envisioned
·
There is “Further progress and restoration towards normal”
·
They expect to hire a staff of 10 to 20
·
There will be a 4 advisory councils of 15 people. One of these
councils will represent the families. The
other 3 will represent the arts, education and tourism; residents; and small
businesses.

This is a listening versus decision making period.
There will be hearings and consultations.
A report will made to the board on March 15th.
Any decisions will reflect the views of the constituencies.

Agenda: land use, memorial and transportation.
Lou Thompson said there is unanimity in vision with Speaker
Silver, Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg.
Roland Betts and Deborah Wright will work the families
advisory board. They just visited
the Oklahoma City Memorial and reported back the following:

The Memorial was inclusive and open.
·
It reflected the scale and range of constituents.
·
It was a 6.5 year process.
There was an unanimous vote on the principals and
selection of the design.
